Montgomery County Schools decided to close early today, therefore the GISW is running on Plan C.
- Classes end at 1:45 pm.
- Lunch Break takes place in accordance with the regular schedule
- Buses leave school at 1:55 pm only and follow the

Our winners in the EUREKA competition 鈥淢an and Nature鈥� 2021
Twenty-nine students from 5th to 8th grade won prizes! Congratulations!
For the first time this year, our school participated in Germany鈥檚 nationwide competition, "Man and Nature". During the week of November 8th to 12th, 221 GISW students answered 45 questions in a multiple-choice test about nature and the environment, humans and animals, and technology and research. What is tofu made of? Which vegetables belong to the family of pumpkins? What is the name of the technology used to produce electricity from solar energy? What kind of animal is a whale shark? Students of different levels wracked their brains over these questions for an entire school lesson. With success!
The prizes have not yet arrived, but each Eureka participant will receive a certificate and a small but useful gift. In each grade the three best results will be awarded. In addition, there may be other awards earned by successful participants at the national and state level in Germany.
