Contract FAQ

The 海角原创 (GISW) is using secure digital signature technology for our 2026/27 contracts to simplify the re-enrollment process, eliminating any need for paper copies or scanning.

We would like to share answers to frequently asked questions with you here. We ask that you kindly review them again before signing the contract. Please also check out the new Parent Portal in Blackboud Enrollment Management which will provide you direct access to Blackbaud Tuition Management, Magnus Health, the online Book Store and many more useful information throughout the school year. Please make sure to come back often.

Why do I need to submit a re-enrollment contract every year?

Each school year requires a new enrollment or re-enrollment contract to confirm your child鈥檚 place and tuition, confirm payment plans, and school policies for the upcoming academic year. In systems like Blackbaud Enrollment Management, contracts are integrated with tuition and billing so families complete enrollment and payment setup in one process.

Do both parents/guardians need to sign the contract?

If both parents/guardians are financially responsible, each signer needs to log in and complete their electronic signature and initials. Both parents received a separate email. Please check your spam folder. Only when both parents have signed, reviewed and submit the contract will the contract be submitted to GISW.

How will I know which tier tuition I belong to?

Please refer to the tuition fee schedule for 26/27 for an explanation of the different tiers. If you think your payer status has changed from last year, please contact Ms. Moore at cmoore@giswashington.org. Otherwise you will receive the same contract as last year. New Families are required to self-identify them during the application process so we may send you the appropriate contract.

What payment plans are available?

Within the contract process you can choose from available tuition payment options (annual, semi-annual, or monthly plans), depending on your payer designation. If you are a direct payer the school offers annual, semi-annual and monthly plans through Blackbaud鈥檚 Tuition Management system. If you are a sponsored pay family, you only have the option to choose annual pay. Please follow this link for our tuition and fee schedule for the 2026/27 school year.

What can I expect this year?聽How do I know what to do?

You will receive the contract(s) via email from GISW Admissions dswashington@myschoolapp.com. When appropriate, both parents received an email and both parents have to sign the contract(s). Again, if your email(s) have changed within the past 6 months, please let us know ASAP at mail@giswahington.org. Please also check your spam folder.

Log into Enrollment Management Blackbaud system with your email that we send you the contract notification. When contracts are published, you will typically see a yellow notification banner in the upper left hand corner. Have your password ready.

Please carefully REVIEW the contract and all embedded LINKS as a family, then where appropriate CHOOSE different add-on programs and SIGN/INICIAL (both parents) the Contract. After you each SIGN the contract with your full name you will have to REVIEW the contract, PAY the deposit fee where appropriate and HIT SUBMIT. Only then has the Contract been submitted.

For new  families: Using Blackbaud Enrollment Management and Tuition Management systems, signing an integrated contract for the first time as a new family involves several steps. Below is a detailed guide to assist you through the process, including potential challenges, solutions, and support resources. Please remember where applicable both parents/guardians have to sign the contract and receive a separate email and please check your spam folder.

1.           Steps to Sign the Integrated Contract: Log in to your school's Blackbaud Education Management portal using the link we sent you in the email or log-into the account with your credentials you used during the application process.. Difficulty accessing the parent portal? Ensure you're using the correct login credential (use the email that was used to send the contract message to you)

2.           Locate the Enrollment Contract:

    • In the Enrollment Management system, select the contract assigned to your student(s) in the upper left hand corner
    • Review all sections of the contract, including policies, tuition, fees, and payment plans

3.           Select a Payment Plan:

    • Choose a suitable payment plan from the options provided.
    • Ensure you understand the terms and schedule associated with your selected plan.

4.           Confirm Billing Information:

    • Verify your billing details, including contact information and payment methods.

5.           Review and Submit:

    • Carefully review the entire contract for accuracy and submit the deposit fee and enrollment fee as last step if applicable. You contract will not be submitted if you do not review the contract and pay the deposit fee and enrollment fee if applicable.

6.           Access Tuition Management Account:

    • After submission, access/sign-up for your Tuition Management account to manage payments and monitor your account status. You may find direct access to Tuition management through the Parent Resource Board.

 

YOU are all DONE and your student(s) is/are re-enrolled at GISW for the upcoming school year 2026/27 We thank you again for entrusting us with the education of your child(ren).

Common Challenges and Solutions:

  • Challenge: Uncertainty about selecting the appropriate payment plan.
    • Solution: Review the details of each payment plan carefully. If you have questions, contact the accounting office for guidance. If your employer pays for your tuition directly to GISW you will only be able to submit the annual payment option. Please also select the default due date.
  • Challenge: Technical issues during contract submission.
    • Solution: Try using a different web browser or clearing your current browser's cache. If problems persist, reach out to Blackbaud's Parent Contact Center for assistance.

Contract Deposit

A deposit of $1000 per child is required in order to fully sign your contract and secure a spot for your child for the upcoming school year, which will be applied to your tuition. Tuition and fees will be billed prior to the start of the new school year and will reflect the deposit, all applicable fees, discounts (loyalty discount as well as early enrollment bonus), credits, grants, and add鈥搊n program charges (e.g. Bus, Extended Care and Preschool Afternoon Program).

If your employer covers the tuition including the deposit, and pays directly to the School, you are not required to pay a deposit.

All direct pay families will have the opportunity to pay the deposit during signing of the contract. In order to submit the Contract to the School, the deposit must to be submitted with the contract. You may pay the deposit via credit card at signing. Please have your credit card information ready.

When will I see my Loyalty Award, Financial Aid Award, and Early Enrollment Bonus in my Tuition Management Account? Why are these not on the contract?

The Early Enrollment Bonus, Loyalty Award, and Financial Aid Award will be adjusted by our Accounting Department in your Tuition Management Account after you submit the contract and are confirmed eligible for any of the discounts. These adjustments are not included in the contract itself.

What happens after I submit the contract?

After submission:

  • Your contract is reviewed by the Admissions Office.
  • Your Blackbaud  tuition Management account was created or updated which you can access from the parent portal which you will see once logged in, and our accounting department will update your tuition account accordingly and will send the final tuition bill directly to you or you and your employer no later than June 19th. Please do not pay any 26/27 tuition until you have received a final bill from the accounting department.
  • Your payment schedule begins based on the selected plan. For information on your tuition account please reach out to afloyd@giswashington.org.
Is BlackBaud Tuition Management connected to the contract?

Yes. GISW uses integrated contracts so that once a contract is submitted, a tuition account and payment plan are automatically created/or updated.

Do I need a separate login for tuition payments in BlackBaud Tuition management?

Usually no, for returning Families. They can access Tuition Management directly from their parent portal using Single Sign-On through the Enrollment Management Blackbaud system.

Do I need to create an account to sign my contract?聽

If we sent you the contract email to a Google or Gmail address, you can log into your BlackBaud Enrollment Management parent portal without needing to create a new account. Simply use the "Sign in with Google" feature. Blackbaud allows you to sign in with your Google account, eliminating the need for a separate username and password. Here鈥檚 how to do it:

  1. Look for the "Sign in with Google" button.
  2. Click the button to be directed to the Google login page.
  3. Sign in with your Google credentials. If you're already logged into your Google account, you may not need to enter your password again鈥攋ust select the Google account you want to use (please use the one we have on file, as this is connected to your Blackbaud account).

If you don鈥檛 have a Google or Gmail address, you鈥檒l be prompted to log-in with your username which will be your email address. You may receive a verification code from Blackbaud to confirm your identity. The code will be sent to your email. Once you receive it, enter the code, enter your  password from last year  and log into Blackbaud Enrollment Management.

Can I sign the contract on my smartphone or tablet?聽

Yes. The contract may be signed on both a smartphone and a tablet. Since this is a binding contract we highly encourage you to review and sign the contract on a laptop or desktop computer for optimal viewing and making sure you have received all sections and made the appropriate add-on program choices. If you forgot to add an add-on program like lunch, bus, or changing add-on programs, please use this change form after submitting the contract and submit it directly to the accounting department to April Floyd at afloyd@giswashington.org. We cannot reset a contract once you reached the third page. Please consult with your partner which add-on programs should be chosen for your child(ren).

Can I review and/or download and print a copy of the contract(s) I signed?

Yes. In fact, we strongly recommend that you print or download a copy of your contract after signing. You may also always view it in your BlackBaud account by signing in. Keep your log-in information at hand. A PDF version of the completed contract is usually available in your parent portal records under your name in the right hand sight corner under forms and files once it has been submitted and processed by GISW.

I would prefer to fill out my contract(s) in paper form.

Electronic delivery is GISW鈥檚 highly preferred method in order to submit your contract as effortlessly and quickly as possible, but you may sign a paper version when enrolling. Please contact the admissions office at admissions@giswashington.org.

My children will not return to GISW for the 2026/27 school year. What do I need to do?聽

Please kindly fill out the exit form and send it to admissions@giswashington.org. Or open the contract and check NO under the first question if your child will be returning to GISW for the 2026/27 School Year.

XX Will you send reminders to families?聽

Please check the Wednesday Mail and your emails for additional extension reminders about the Early Enrollment Bonus which currently stands at XXX for all returning student. Please review our Early Enrollment policy. It takes about 20 minutes to review, fill out and sign the Contract. Please have your financial and personal information at hand when filling out the contract. Please also review your family鈥檚 information during the process and updated your address, phone numbers, email addresses if applicable.

What if I never received a re-enrollment contract via email?

If your email address has changed over the past 6 months, please let us know as SOON as possible.

First, make sure it did not get routed to your spam folder and/or your email is blocking GISW Admissions dswashington@myschoolapp.com. The email may be blocked by either your email server, firewall, email provider, or email client. Please check your junk folder, trust all emails from our Admissions Office at
dswashington@myschoolapp.com.

Second, there's a chance that our email is getting caught in your email's filter. Try adjusting your email preferences and adding GISW Admissions dswashington@myschoolapp.com as a trusted sender.

If you still have not received an email, please contract admissions@giswashington.org.

Can I come back and finish signing my contract later?聽Can I start the e-signature process on my laptop, but then finish later on a mobile device? Or vice versa?

Yes, you can finish the process later by simply signing into your BlackBaud Enrollment Management account. Please remember your password.   The contract will not be completed until all required information is provided and the 鈥淪ubmit鈥 button is clicked. If you have forgotten your password, click 鈥Help, I forgot my password鈥 and follow the prompts. If a contract is partially completed, it will show a Continue status until all required signatures and steps are completed.

Why is the German International School using digital signature technology?聽

The German International School (GISW) is using secure digital signature technology to respond to parental feedback to simplify the re-enrollment process, eliminating any need for paper copies or scanning and connecting with its BlackBaud Tuition Management Program for more convenience and oversight for parents鈥 billing information and needs.

I have a security concern.

Why am I being asked for my personal and financial Information again on the contract? We are asking for your personal/financial information on the contract to ensure that the correct individual is completing the information during the re-enrollment process and so that we can process your contract faster once you complete the contract and send it back to us. Please be assured that the BlackBaud platforms are secure and that it is safe to provide your personal information.
