Montgomery County Schools decided to close early today, therefore the GISW is running on Plan C.
- Classes end at 1:45 pm.
- Lunch Break takes place in accordance with the regular schedule
- Buses leave school at 1:55 pm only and follow the

- All afternoon and evening events are cancelled.

January 25, 2018: Second Extraordinary Membership Meeting
Dear Society Members,
I cordially invite you to our second extraordinary Membership Meeting for the school year 2017/2018, which will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 7:00 pm in the School鈥檚 Assembly Hall.
Please click here to view the preliminary Agenda. The focus of the meeting will be exclusively on the 2016/17 Audit as well as the Budget for the 2018/2019 fiscal year.
In the coming days, the Board will send out the Audit, the detailed Budget proposal and any other proposals for your consideration.
A Town Hall Meeting is planned for the third week of January to provide our Members a more in-depth overview of the Audit and Budget situation. A separate invitation will be sent out for the Town Hall Meeting.
According to the by-laws of the German School Society Washington, D.C., the Membership Meeting attains a quorum if at least one eighth of its Membership is present. In the event that a quorum is not reached, we would like to invite you, in accordance with the by-laws (搂10 (2)), to a third extraordinary Membership Meeting on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 7:15 pm to ensure that a vote can take place.
Motions put forth by members must be submitted to the Board no later than 5 days before a Membership Meeting, which, in this case, is January 20, 2018. Please send your motions to vorstand@giswashington.org.
Childcare and a translation service for our non-German speaking Members will be available at the Meeting.
