Montgomery County Schools decided to close early today, therefore the GISW is running on Plan C.

- Classes end at 1:45 pm.
- Lunch Break takes place in accordance with the regular schedule
- Buses leave school at 1:55 pm only and follow the
- Afternoon Program and Extended Care are cancelled.
- All afternoon and evening events are cancelled.

THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS, PARTICIPANTS AND SPONSORS!

It was a beautiful morning in Potomac as hundreds of runners and walkers of all ages took to the streets in support of the German School Washington D.C. and the German Language School! Thank you to all the participants of our 5k Oktoberfest Run & Fun Run 2014. We hope you had fun!

We were thrilled with the turnout for our 3rd annual 5k Oktoberfest Run & Fun Run that brought together 408 5k runners and over 55 Fun Run champions. Our goal was to produce a healthy community event while promoting the German culture and language. With generous sponsors, countless in-kind donations and close to 100 caring volunteers, we believe we achieved that goal.

Proceeds from the 5k Oktoberfest Run & Fun Run 2014 benefit the German School and German Language School and will be used to purchase new technical event equipment for school performances.

To all the amazing, fabulous and hardworking volunteers that helped us organize and run Saturday鈥檚 event, please accept our deepest gratitude for the generous gift of your time. Your support was critical to the success of this event. You are the best!
