Montgomery County Schools decided to close early today, therefore the GISW is running on Plan C.
- Classes end at 1:45 pm.
- Lunch Break takes place in accordance with the regular schedule
- Buses leave school at 1:55 pm only and follow the
- Afternoon Program and Extended Care are cancelled.
- All afternoon and evening events are cancelled.

Food Donations for the Children's Inn at NIH - 2017
Dear Parents and Students of the Elementary School,
Our food drive for the Children鈥檚 Inn was another big success! Thanks to your generous donations we once again received a large quantity of food items. The students of grades 1-4 handed the food items from hand to hand in a long line that reached from the Elementary School library, across the courtyard, and all the way to the parking lot. At the end of the line the donations were put into large boxes and loaded into a truck. All participating students were very motivated and enthusiastic. It was a joy to see the students collaborating for such a great cause at the start of this holiday season.
The food items were received at the Children鈥檚 Inn with much appreciation and gratitude. The staff was impressed with the amount of items our students and parents had donated. The organization was also very thrilled with the 鈥濰appy Thanksgiving鈥� card that was prepared by our students with care and dedication.
